5 Signs That You Need to Replace Your Gutters
Know The Warning Signs
Your gutter’s number 1 job is to channel rainwater away from your home as quickly as possible. If it is time to clean, repair or replace your gutters, now is the time, you don’t want to wait. Damage caused by faulty gutters include: roof, siding, window, landscape and foundation. These types of problems associated with poorly function gutters can lead expensive repair work. Avoid damage caused by gutter problems by knowing the warning signs to replace them.
-
Cracks
If you notice small cracks in your gutters, rainwater is leaking. It can damage the fascia board behind the gutters, the roof above, siding and the foundation below. Small cracks can quickly become large and an even bigger issue fast.

-
Peeling Paint
Peeling paint/rust on your gutters or siding is a good indicator that there is an issue. This warning sign could mean water is not draining properly, there are cracks, or other damage is present.

-
Hardware is Falling Apart
Are you noticing nails on the ground? This can be a sign that the gutter is not properly secured to your home anymore; it can be caused from clogs and the gutter is unable to handle the additional weight, or they were installed with nails, which can pull away from wood. If the gutters begin to pull away from your home, this creates space for rainwater to flow behind the fascia board and cause damage to your home.

-
Sagging Gutters
This is one of the easiest warning signs to spot. Gutters should never sag or pull away from your home. This is a good indication that the gutter is handling additional weight, causing them to pull away from the home.

-
Tiger Striping
If you notice ugly vertical striping on the outside of the gutter, this is a good sign that rainwater is overflowing the front of your gutter and ending up on the ground below.
